Since I´m a Slytherin member, I´d love to reply ´´cause I´m
the best, don´t even think about choosing one of the rest´´ but
nope, I only think I know all books pretty well, I know our castle
and I don´t have a problem with speaking English (That´s the deal
of raising up in Canada, whoa).
I´m not a person meant
to be a champion but I seriously wouldn´t mind being one.

Cassandra Aurora Nott

Because I can´t speak English and I haven´t logics.

Connie Clerenc

I dont now… 😀

Dimin Dragondead

This is a very good question. Why me? When I think about it a lot
of experience, knowledge, and so I thought I might try it too.
Although it is very small chance that they get there, but the test
will not give anything.

Dors Venabili

Dear Jury!
There exists many types of people and many great
personalities in our world of magic. In our school are loads of
intelligent, gifted students and professors with a brilliant sence of
humor. Therefor I guess it is going to be hard find and pick the best
man for a job but still there is a problem of language. All of us
were not studing english and for some might be difficult to
understand a task or get together few sentences or even a whole
essey. Thats why I think I could be a good candidate for this event.
I am studying english for almost 10 years (of course there is always
something new to learn) and trying to get better everytime I have a
chance.
One could say that knowledge and number of books winner
have read is important. But we must not forget if th cnadidate know
how to use logic and magic. I think i might be a good wizard myself
in these ways too. An finally but still important fact – Everyone
wants to get in touch with famous wizards and „witchy celebrities“
and thats something i could handle as a one of them. Obviously, we
have to think about popularity of the winner of Triwizard Tournament.
That can be a reward and at the same time a trap. Its a challange to
deal with a enormous number of fans and tuns of letters. Not everyone
is ready to be a star, haha!
Thank you for your time

Esperanza Milagrosa

Hi!
Let me to introduce myself:
Since I read about the
Tournament in HP books for the first time, I have been very excited
about the three tasks. I really imagine that I am the Champion and
compete with the others. Instead of Harry himself it is ME who want
to enroll to this magnificent Tournament personally.
As well
as everyone who visiting one of those three schools I love the story
about the famous Harry Potter. When I was 13th years old I read the
first book for the first time and since that I fell in love with the
magical world of HP. Today I´m 21 and still love that magic world. I
read our Czech books for several times even I don´t know the precise
number but it is enough for the reason that I know story very well.
And because I like English, I owned English versions of all HP books
as well. I listen English reading of HP book too, because this is the
way how to remember almost the whole book. Even I have the Deathly
Hallows in Spanish language, too. So I can speak English and Spanish.
I like English language and Spanish. I prefer listening original
movies in English, because I can listen the native speaker´s voice.
Also the Spanish version of movie is very lovely.
There is no
doubt when my friends say that I am a really maniac to HP world. When
we have meeting from our online Hogwarts and playing the game about
the HP knowledge there is nobody who can beat me in this game.
In
our online Hogwarts we have two kinds of annual competition, but I
never compete. It was because tasks were about the school itself not
about the HP world alone. And that I missed. I really wait for that
kind of competition – the TriWizard Tournament with the topic of
HP.
I think that I am able to understand English task as
well as to write in English. One thing is that maybe I write a little
bit long and complicated sentences in English.
My English
grade in the FCE – When I read the specification of these levels, my
colleague from the “muggle” school put me into the middle of B1
and B2.

Georgina Blair Eastwick

Because I Eastwicková!
I’m intelligent, and English
(hopefully) good.
I think I deserved it. Even though probably not
many. We’ll see.
I would like to compete. Just … It takes me
terribly! 🙂

Ines Dolfin

I just want to try something new and amusing. I wanna have some
fun. So I HAVE to try it! What can I lose? It is a great opportunity.

Irma Von Feenwald

Fof simply reason: Because I think I am the best. Irma Von
Feenwald

Jane Karen Langley

Because I have good knowledge of HP books and whole universe
around this phenomenon. I have analytic mind, which is always good
thing, and I like inovative unexpected solutions. I always try my
best and every obstacle is challenge for me.
Also my mother is
doctor at St. Mungo’s Hospital and my dad works at Ministry of Magic
in London so english is not problem for me.
Jane Karen Langley

Kristie Smithová

Because I am from Slytherin. In Slytherin are the most inteligent
people and they can think logically. Well, I know lot of of Harry
Potter world, so I have a little chance to win. I hope, I will be
helper of champion. I don’t mean, that I can be champion. There are
lots of people, whitch will be better chamions than me.

Sitting on the perch of choice
Hearing lovely magic

Makes me wonder what I do
Where is my next leading
clue?
And how we cope with what is true?
No one knows but
solely you…
***
Dear Goblet of Fire,
Before
I begin belauding my abilities to the skies and trying to show you
what I can or cannot do, as is expected of me, I would like you to
stop with me for a minute or two. And let us pose just a tiny
philosophical question. Let us step out of the box for a moment. What
makes a candidate to be the best among every other? To be “The
One”? What is it you are looking for? The criterion is known, but
the final decision rests upon much more than a list of abilities we
are supposed to have, as we all know. To consider all those aspects
of a true Hogwarts champion means to look into his or her soul, to
connect all the parts and see what comes out of them in the end. It
seems almost effortless once we realise something like that.
Nevertheless, there is one more question that needs to be addressed
given the condition we have put on ourselves. “How do we do that
when our judgement can be based on only one single essay?” Then my
guess would be this: Read between the lines. That is where the key to
the answer is hidden. That is where the Holy Grail is laying.
For
more than seven days I have been thinking about what it would be like
to take part in the Tournament in the role of a champion or one of
his assistants. It was only at the very end of the week when I
realised that, all this time, I have been searching for an answer I
could not possess. The truth is – we don’t know until we try. Not
me, not any other inhabitant of our castle. We can use our
imagination, but in the end, the long-yearned-for picture is
unimaginable. The only one with the power to answer such a question
and create that picture is you, my dear Goblet of Fire. And to be
honest, you are not much of a talkative chap (don’t take it
personally). 😉 So we are left with what possibilities and theories
we have. And my theories are… well, just theories. Speculations.
Presumptions.
However, one thing did cross my mind
whilst I was undergoing my little daydreaming sessions. Sitting in
the Great Hall, in Ravenclaw common room, in the library… Watching
my friends going by, chattering… I realised more than ever the
crucial fact: What I deeply care about is this school. The place
where I have been spending the last three and a half years of my
life. The school which formed my character, and helped me to develop
it. It gave me a chance to work on my talents and cope with the shady
parts of my temper. I owe Hogwarts so much, and I deeply respect its
honour. Therefore, it is no surprise that it would simply be a
genuine delight to have the possibility to make the school proud and
to defend this honour. It gave me so much, but I feel like I am not
giving much back. This is a chance to make it happen, and I am eager
to fulfil it.
I realise that, if chosen as the
Hogwarts.cz champion, I would be at the very beginning of my journey.
I have one less thing to worry about, however, thank Merlin, and that
is my knowledge of the English language. Having experienced three
years of life in Great Britain, actively using English every day and
in the end successfully passing my secondary education leaving
examination in this language, I am grateful to not have any
uneasiness about it. To be honest, and I hope this does not sound too
overweening, I consider it to basically be my second maternal
language.
With the experience I gained in England comes
another of my abilities, and that is strong work ethic which, in my
opinion, is an absolute necessity in the case of Triwizard
Tournament, as many preparations including the thorough and precise
knowledge of the Harry Potter books will be needed. This involves
reading all the books in the original publication again and again in
a very, very short time. I read them numerous times already, of
course, both in Czech and English, but I realise that the level of
knowledge required, all the terms and tiny little details of the
content etc., will be extremely high. Having searched the internals
of HOL and seeing the obsession with which they approach the world of
Harry Potter made me realise that the Triwizard Tournament is
something we are not trained for that well.
Our policy
is oriented in a very different direction – more abstract, more
creative, free and independent. I am a little afraid that this is
something few of us actually realise. Whoever will be chosen for the
tournament should await a ridiculous amount of materials that need to
be covered before the joust starts. On the other hand, it is an
alluring gigantic challenge, and I had more than enough time to think
about whether I am able to undergo it or not. I gave it a lot of
thought. The fact that I am writing this essay now demonstrates what
decision I have made. I am willing to take the risk, no matter how
huge it is going to be. I might be wavering and hesitant beforehand,
as I try to consider carefully all the possible obstructions, but
once I’m in, I never take a step back. I’m not a quitter. If
chosen as one of the representatives I will not say “no, thank you”
when I see the first task.
There is really no way how I
can prove such a statement at this very moment, except for drawing
out some of the events of the past, such as my participation in both
Hogwarts Four and the Contest of the Seven. I finished both of them,
I always gave my best and I never gave up. I know that they could not
be more different from the Triwizard Tournament, but they are the
best experience I have. The only experience I can build on.
With
the reference to the Hogwarts Four, I need to pinpoint the importance
of cooperation in this tournament. I am very well aware that the
champion will make the big decisions and be the chief of the
representation of Hogwarts.cz. However, he or she will have
assistants. Hogwarts Four, seven Hogwarts years of presence in
Ravenclaw and once again, the unique approach to education in
England, provided me with the ability to work as a part of a team. To
listen to what my “colleagues” have to say. To look at one
problem from different points of view of everyone in the group. To
respect and potentially accept and apply the arguments of others. Or,
in one sentence: to be collegiate. I believe that in the Triwizard
Tournament, all egoistic yearnings need to step aside. I don’t
think this would give me much trouble.
Moreover, since
one of the key goals of this project is the international magical
cooperation, making of friends, I believe friendliness is in order. I
hope that I can consider myself a companionable person. One that
would not go to the Tournament just to bloodthirstily fight and win
at any price, but one that would enjoy meeting new people, making
international connections for our school and learning about new
cultures. One that would not be devastated if something went wrong
and our school should come last in the tournament. I believe I could
represent our school quite well in this field. The primary goal of
our school is to enjoy ourselves. I doubt that with the Triwizard
Tournament, it is any different. And since after three and a half
years at Hogwarts, I am still having an extremely good time, I think
I could apply this approach to the tournament as well.
All
of this probably sounds really confident and presumptuous, but the
truth is, I know where my boundaries are. They finish exactly at the
point where I feel I am not in the right place. I need to feel some
support and this is why I was so scared to write my essay and put it
into your flames, dear Goblet. Given the circumstances and the
paradigm that is going around regarding the reputation of Ravenclaw
students, I do have worries. I want the school to be happy with the
person that will represent them. Otherwise they could not enjoy the
tournament. I know that you can never satisfy everyone, but choosing
a Ravenclaw student is indeed quite risky. I was horror-struck when I
encountered the view “well, of course a Ravenclaw student will be
chosen by the Goblet, they are conceited and it is all about the
favours” in the past seven days.
In the end though, I
decided to go for it. I have an amazing background among the
Ravenclaw students. I have never had a chance to belong to such a
supportive squad. They are so loving, they are caring and I know that
no matter what will happen and what I will or will not do, they will
stand by my side. I know that the champion will need to be strong
just as he or she is. But a strong background is something that
cannot be replaced. And once you have it, there is virtually nothing
that can beat you. Even a failure in the Tournament or anywhere else
does not stand a chance. As long as your closest friends are by your
side, you will manage anything and you will cope with everything that
is set out for you. I have experienced it at every single heavy
moment throughout the years at Hogwarts. However, this year, the
family atmosphere in Ravenclaw is stronger than ever. What more could
a student and a potential champion or assistant wish for?
Creativity
and innovative mind are the strongest weapons I have. And I am not
afraid to use them. 😛 They provide me with the capability to
approach a problem in many different ways, from which I can then
choose the best option. I do have constraints, but I am reflective,
and I have learnt to work with them. I believe this is why a champion
has his or her assistants. To help him or her darn the holes in his
or her own abilities, to receive advice and a helping hand. I believe
I would be able to play the roles of both the champion and one of the
assistants. It is up to you to judge whether my belief is correct or
not and whether I am good for any of these roles.
Wow, I
actually wrote it; I am nearly done! I’m proud, as for some reason,
it always seems silly to me to explain why I am so genius you should
choose me instead of anyone else. Well, why? Why does it have to be
me? I will support anyone who will be chosen. The pressure will be
extreme and to carry the burden will not be an easy task. I am
willing to take the risk. That is why I aspire to be your champion.
But whatever decision you make is right, and I do not see the reason
for crying blindly and demand attention at any price. I do not have
such needs.
I am looking forward to taking part in the
Tournament, no matter what role I will be given. If not as a
contestant, then definitely as a reporter and a huge fan. I do not
know about the abilities of others. I know only myself and even that
is a difficult task. I offer everything I have, and that is why I
apply.
If you ask me whether or why I am the best
candidate, then my answer is: You tell me. Am I the best candidate?
Look into my soul and see for yourself. Because in the end, you are
the only one who can decide and be the judge. I gave you an insight.
Now it is entirely up to you. And I know that whatever decision you
are going to make, I will back it up and give you my support.
Good
luck!
Best regards,
Larrie Larstonová,
Ravenclaw

I am the best candidate, because I love adventure and I want to
prove that I got it. I know that I will do everything to make our
school won the Triwizard Tournament.
This is my binding decision.

NaSaŠí Jackson

Hello, my name is NaSaŠí Jackson and I am thirteen years old. I
would like entered into the tournament, because I think I speak
English well. I’m studying English for nine years and I’m good at it.
I love the Harry Potter saga. I know all about it! Every book I read
at least fifteen times. I was literally crazy. I’m way hardworking
and industrious, like the friends with others. Moreover, I have a lot
of free time that could be used somehow. 🙂

Nicholas McElen

Hello,
Let’s introduce myself at first: my name is Nicholas
McElen and I have been attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry for five years. I passed N. E. W. T.s (Nastily Exhausting
Wizarding Test) through “Studying of Muggles” and O. W. L.s
through “Vampires as you don’t know”. And I study The Secrets
of Strange Languages where Mrs. Rawenclav teaches us about secrets of
cat’s, dog’s or troll’s language in these days. It’s really
interesting because we need to make ourselves understood.
And
maybe that’s the reason why I want to try this tournament. I want
to speak in English. At my muggle’s school I have been studying
English as a subject and language almost for 10 years and I won
English Olympiad there. Of course – I cannot forget the “A Very
Potter Musical” and “A Very Potter Sequel”. These two musicals
made my English better, I think.
But there are other reasons
why I want to be a candidate or just an assistant (I’d like to be
“just” an assistant). For example I think that I’ve got maybe
good knowledge about HP books and films. On the other hand I have to
– and I want to – teach myself names, places and things in
English. I believe that it’s going to be hard but it will be a
contribution surely for me and students at
Hogwarts.cz.
Regards,
Nicholas McElen
